@aero3685 you're in luck, I can build this for you and toss in a matching window on the other side for the low-low cost of all your money. :D

Sure does top your Colfax living conditions!

Talked to the guy who built one up here...

Said he took his engineered steel building plans along with a napkin plan of the interior build out and had no issues. So we'll see.

    Awwww

Fairly certain I'll be looking for something at some point soon.

Have a backhoe we can use... Been making good use of a rented mini ex but a skid steer would be nice. As well as a small crane.

    Back in the designing mode.

Still thinking metal is the way to go even though there are haters. But, might as well go bigger, single level and it'll be nice and easy to frame it out.

40x80, and as its split, its 40x45 garage. Still in progress, need to make a second bedroom and may put the master in that corner. Just need to decide what interesting things I want to do with the bathroom. At least dropping the floor for a no step shower, some sort of rock on the walls with a pebble floor. Rain head from a curved ceiling...

Kitchen mod I may integrate is raising the dishwasher a foot or two to a more ergonomic height... instead of having to bend down to it for the lower drawer. A foot would make a bunch of difference and would match up with the rest of the raised bar height on the island.

Put a urinal in the garage bathroom. More efficient for beer based events. :D

Having a curbless shower was the best thing we ever did to our master. Rain heads are great, but also make sure there is room to get out of the water. Our old shower sucked cause you were always under the rain head. We skipped it in the remodel.

Yeah, urinal will likely happen, just didn't swap out the block on the drawing.

And I'm planning on a large shower without a door, so there will be plenty of room... And I'm not a fan of wasting water so I'll be keeping it to one or two heads, maybe a valve to divert water between a ceiling and wall mount. Infared light as well.

This kind of shower design is what I'll want and probably build in the tub in the other bath with something similar so it looks like an undermount tub.

My last house I had a small area but built a walk in and was a fan.

Got in touch with the metal building rep..

40x80x14 so it'll be tall enough for the lift wherever i put it in the garage.

So hopefully I can make that official, get foundation plans and get the ball rolling on permitting.

Yeah, I'm a fan of the dark colors... Simple, different and looks great. The kitchen and bathroom I'm all about pimping out... Bedroom and living areas can be simple for all i care.

Digging the wood on the ceiling... But it does make it dark in the room.

I like the color, that's what i plan on at least having the sheds colored.

Still waiting for everyone to get back to me so no progress. :playball:

    Went exploring today.

Found some sweet frozen waves along Mosquito Creek. I wanted to go out into the middle where it was clear but decided against it.

    0217181012b.jpg

Then hiked up to Kite Lake which was either totally frozen and snowed over or is empty. I realized that you can access the three 14ers from there.

Made it most of the way up Democrat before my dang water bladder hose completely froze and I couldn't get it to thaw so I decided to call it. I was pretty worn out since I left the snowshoes in the truck and it was crazy windy so i figured I'd save knocking out the three 14ers for another day. I had to hit the deck quite a few times instead of getting thrown off the side.

    What up?

I think my windshield wiper got jacked up yesterday.. minimal amount of snow on the windshield and i turned them on one click. Passenger side went and drivers side didn't move. Wiped off a tiny dusting of snow and ice and then the drivers wiper kept doing it's own thing... Sometimes it would work others it would either stick straight up or crash into the passenger one.
Haven't looked at it yet since it was quite cold, but it acts like the arm isn't tightened properly.

But on house stuff, finally got septic engineering back so when I get the plans I'll get to donate to the county to get a permit for that. Hoping to hear from power company this week as well.

Got a quote from metal building outlet and their price is significantly lower than the previous quote i was working with. :bananadance: just need to research and see if there are any differences. Metal supports and gauges all look to match.. They do offer more insulation options than the more expensive companies single backed option.

Still looking for a dump trailer, perks are it would kill two birds with one stone as they can also haul skidsteers/mini excavators so i wouldn't need a separate trailer. And for gravelling my driveway and back filling the septic, it would be much easier than shoveling.

Ahh just checking in seeing how the house build is coming.

Weird about the windshield wiper, wonder if some ice accumulated on the wiper joint keeping it from moving?

Dump trailers are awesome! They have so many uses like you said, and arent terribly expensive. Im sure you could find a decent used one on craigslist if you arent looking for new.

Yeah it's a bunch of hurry up and wait... And since I'm trying to do it mostly with cash at least the waiting on other people is helping me stockpile money.

The bottom seemed fine there was only a tiny bit of ice on the windshield. And when i moved the arm by hand, it took little to no force, so it's not like it was completely frozen. But it's likely the first time they've been used in snow after sitting since it hasn't snowed much.

I was looking for used, but they are close to the cost of new if they are in decent condition. Really beat up ones pop up sometimes... Or scams.

But we'd be able to use it quite a bit for work so just going new is likely what will happen shortly since I'd rather pay an extra 10% and have brand new. Just deciding on length since I'd be fine with as small as would fit but I'm sure I'll want wiggle room to get the tongue loading correct. Other factor is tie downs since they don't usually have them in the bed.

But there's plenty of Texas Pride trailers all over Craigslist.
