Tune questions

I’m not trying to be a jerk here. I’m legitimately curious. Another hard issue to crack is getting above 85% load in 4th gear with gear lock on a Dyno to get a full detailed dyno run. Maybe you’ve already solved this as well. Looking forward to the data

 

Pulling over 100% on the street in 4th. Not sure why we couldn't hit 85% on a Dyno. I guess we'll see soon.

 

101.96% load @ 6009 rpm in 4th gear is 109.92 mph on 34s.

 

Does the tune change timing? My only concern would be running lean.

I plan on getting one after I get the gears installed. But I don't want to have to run 91.

I also have no idea where to go in Montana. I'm actually curious if my dealer would do this, because they do everything else. They legit don't care. Montana has consumer rights. You do what you want.

No need for 91. Ignition and valve timing changes have been made. We're pushing limits, not crossing boundaries. One we're finished Dyno testing we assume some adjustments may be necessary, then we'll release. We plan to provide a network of people to offer our tune nation wide.

 

Are you working on a dedicated M/T tune?

Right on, looking forward to more files for M/T (not just ports, though).
I'm currently on a calibration version (04B42) that doesn't have support in the form of an actual tune pack (well, no support in the lowly vF community, not sure what the Pro tuners have in their toolbox).

 

2.0 will run fine on both octane. I've done it. OL works. My post on VF forums were not about 2.0. They were about adjusting for knock with the goal of running a cleaner KCLV than stock values. Changing engine timing increases the likelihood for knock and detonation, but I digress... This wasn't about my post on knock. It was about OL on 2.0 which IS a thing. Yes, KCLV will drop some, then stabilize. This is the ECU doing its job. KCLV drops because the ECU is retarding timing to prevent knock and detonation. Was a long discussion about this on fb and Mat chimed in for set things straight. Long story short, there is special coding written in for OL.

 

Ours does, most others do not. These truck run rich AF. Leaning them out isn't a bad thing.

yah, are those temps showing from a stock transmission cooler running that data? I meant not the first time because with a stock cooler after a few WOTs usually it is a bit warmer than that

 

Ah... Well depends how long you let it cool between pulls. Mine is factory. Once TC locks up it cools down pretty quick.
