I have an automatic ‘99 2WD Tacoma that’s at 160k miles. I bought it at 80k miles and have done the basic maintenance on it (regular oil changes at 3k miles, changed transmission fluid, etc.). I feel like I’m at the point where I need to do some overall tune-ups and get down into the nitty gritties. Does anyone have any recommendations on what I can do? I want this truck to go the distance of 200k or more

If you still have the maintenance manual in your glove box it lays out the maintenance intervals for everything.

First is lower ball joints. These are a huge safety hazard if they fail.

second in timing belt. Will leave you stranded if it fails

Around $26,000 worth of unleaded in the fuel tank.
At 160k it will probably need at least front brakes, radiator, spark plugs, leaf springs, and yeah lower ball joints are probably worn

^^^ this, If she was mine, I would look at the lower ball joints first.

Low hanging fruit would be your rear diff. Front diff and T-Case if you you have 4x4. These are super easy jobs assuming the bolts aren’t seized up.

Oh yeah, check the rear brakes for differential fluid from bad axle bearings and seals. Make sure the rear differential breather isn't clogged or the expansion of fluid from heat forces the gear oil into the rear brakes.

I have had 3 tacomas that did this and 2 of them were around the 150k mile point. 2 of my tacomas had a brake booster leak and bad master cylinder around 160k mi.
