Yeah when I first wanted to upgrade all I had to do was send him the dongle. Which of course I couldn’t find. Gave up for a bit, then found it, but it had been too long so no more free upgrades. Granted it’s a discounted fee so I’m not complaining.

Bummer! Thanks for the info though. I'm sure there are other folks out there that will need to upgrade.

Mine is version 1.02! I’m scared to try the new version without having access to gear lock.

It will happen. It is good to get the software update to be ready for it.

I emailed him to start the process. That way I’m ready once it’s available. Based on the Facebook post I’m sure he’s slammed with emails/questions.

No doubt. It looks like it was only a 2020+ issue though. Might work on your 2016? But, it would be good to get confirmation if you are good for now.

Gear lock is helpful in so many ways! I couldn't do a dyno without it. There are other tunes with GL.

You are correct, although, this is the GL feature update that allows folks to get GL just by moving to S-mode. So, it will retain the separate ECT function.

Once released, all tunes can be updated to this new (very old?) setup.

That will be so nice. I forget ECT mode all the time and have to shift back, press it, shift back.

Tonered, a little off topic. for dyno purposes, there is no fuse pulling on tunes like this right?!?! it's been a while and I want to get things prepped for my dyno run this week (new snorkel).

I think folks have been pulling the ABS fuses? @mZiggy , @Formidable , or @a2lowvw would know for sure.

Yeah there's two abs fuses to pull, and then 3rd gear for the fun

I did a quick search based on your input and came up with you stating this to me in a thread...
"yeah, it's got gearlock enabled. ECT + S-mode.

Indeed, 3rd gear for dyno. And pull the abs fuses for the YW tune runs as well."

I'm testing the new uptop snorkel, so I'll post the data on that for all to see. So far in regular driving though....it's letting me boost!

lol I expect a lot of snorkel designs unfortunately do not account for the inherent air restriction that most of them introduce, especially the fancy sleek/thin ones

It's been a long time since I've used my VFTuner. I guess that's a good thing? I went to update the software today, it looks there's a new registration method so I sent in my serial number, etc...

My real question is, for those who know these kinds of things, has anyone figured out a tune for the cruise control? Would gear lock be able to help with that?
