Oh, right, sorry I thought you were comparing to supercharger. Yes, a turbo mounted right off of the manifold will definitely shine better than one that is downstream more. You're still going to get good performance though unless like I said, if you're going for all out HP and responsiveness.

All parts are in so I am dropping the truck off Monday so I should have pics next weekend. The headers are back from the machine shop as well. Checked the HP in the truck this week and it was at 203, so we will see what happens.

I put my eyes on the water to air innercooler today so I think the truck will really be finished this week. :D

Be patient. When I was getting my integra engine built and turbo'ed it took a few months. But it was worth it in the end.

So the throttle body sits downstream of the supercharger and intercooler? That should result in good throttle response, potentially better than the TRD supercharger.

Yup, thats how my setups designed, Night and day difference, I've got a boost gauge coming in the mail to tell me exactly home much boost I actually am pushing

The throttle body is in the stock location. It is attached to the stock intake manifold.

x2, you'd have to hook up a boost gauge to a downstream section of the TRD charger

Not here to butt heads with you, but i had the sts kit. Modified the crap out of it. It still sucked. Best I could get out of it was 412 whp and 507 wtq @ 14.xx psi, but it had an hp/tq curve that looked like a mountain. Up then back down. Wouldn't even spool up in first gear. Useless.

Made an exhaust manifold for my turbo and mounted it up front. Makes more power per pound of boost and continually climbs. 475 whp and 549 wtq @ 14.8 psi. Full boost at 3400 rpms.

What i want to see is how this OP's kit looks though.

That is what i would have though as well. But my original turbo that came with the kit was smaller than the one I replaced it with, which I am still running. This one has a larger A/R turbine housing as well. So that should mean a little slower spool, right? Nope. Spooled faster with this one, yet still did not perform like it does now.

I poured my heart, sweat and wallet into that kit, to make it as good as I could. Still paled in comparison. However, a mid mount should do quite well, since the engine bay temps will stay lower than a front mount, and you can get pretty close to equal length headers into it. You are only limited by the size of the turbo since there isn't much room down there.

What size motor does the OP have? I forgot. Mine is a 4.0.

There is also a guy on XRU that is trying to get the tuning bugs figured out in his recently installed mid mount kit. He has an Xrunner.

All else being equal, you want the throttle body to be as close as possible to the intake runners for the best throttle response. If the blower is after the throttle body, when the throttle opens, the air has to fill the blower, get compressed, fill the intake plenum, then go into the intake runners. Having less volume after the throttle is a good thing.

Ideally you'd want individual butterfly valves inside each intake runner, though most production cars don't do it for cost reasons.
