Diesels are much stronger than gas, and can take the higher boost. Wasnt the Regal Turboed? And hasnt Ford only used the M45? I know the lightnigh had the M45 in it. :)

More like gasoline is a lot more volatile than diesel. PSI creates heat.
    Thanks, Cam-shaft.:)

I am aware of this. Diesel engines are engineered much stronger than gas engines, and can take much higher boost than what they receive stock. Like 350 said, his is pushing close to 50 psi. Im guessing we are thinking on 2 different leves in which text can not translate.

sadly "his was" would be correct term I sold the dodge years ago, I had it for awhile then katrina hit and fuel prices went through the roof... truck was $600 a month (rounded off #'s) insurance was $400 a month (27 tickets will get you this) and I was spending around $150 in fuel per week to get to my $10/hr job...so it had to go

as for leves yeah we are talking different LOL levels maybe lol

as for the super chargers you can get a m62 for around $150 everyday of the week on ebay then expect to put another few hundred in rebuilding it and getting correct pulley...still not a bad way to go but for the 4cyl I voted turbo any how... they are pretty easy to get working decent on a near stock motor and probably cheaper if you hunt and pick the pieces

I was able to get a new M62 with gear box for my 2.7 for $1300.00. Personally, I prefer a supercharger on a turck. 'Cept my Dodge, It has the Cummins TD, and It pulls like a Bull! :D

Well i have been reading on STS website about the turbos and I would like to go for a turbo-however-this particular setup for the oil supply is gravity return from the turbo!!!! If you are offroading at all i would not turbo with the install being under the truck for fear of damaging oil lines and other turbo related pieces. Now i am not saying this is a bad design but there is potential for oil problems IMO regardless of offroad or street .Furthermore my Taco is not a drag car/truck.I think a supercharger would fit the bill just fine for towing power and general "kick in the pants"performance. Also i like my URD CAI,Y-Pipe and 3 in. exhaust.Aturbo application would not allow me to keep what i have already spent money for and a S/C would.just my 10 cents :)

I dont think you want a turbo, there is a thing called turbo lag when the turbo is spooling, I think for offroad applications a super charger would be better due to more immediate power gains.

Just get the damm supercharger!! Your 2nd-gen trucks are already quick as hell stock. Anything beyond that is crazy fast.

Either way, you can't go wrong. The power increase will be terrific. The S/C will be a lot less of a hastle though.

For a turbo kit, you either have to do the STS package, or build one from scratch. There is a guy in Houston that has the STS kit, and has been through hell and back getting it to work right.

The TRD S/C is a plug and play for the most part. And responds VERY well when you add the APR X-1 for tuning purposes.
