    Hi All,
Got a new fangled turkey fryer with the swell timer thing that has stopped working - at the worst possible moment...

Has anyone just swapped out the hose assembly and/or used an adapter to make the original hose fit?

I've read up on the various by-passes - timer wiring and thermo couple delete, etc.

I'm just wondering f I can buy a replacement hose - possibly from an older unit (no jokes please) and use it instead. Cleaner install and all that...

    Thanks,
    Sprocket

I have an older one with no timer and a newer one that only lets you go for 15 minutes at a time without turning the little timer knob. I can swap mechanisms with one another, if I wanted to. Haven't seen a need, but I could.

Not sure if that's what you're looking for.

You should be able to buy a used hose with the appropriate fitting, then just connect it to your burner. Pretty standardized thread size, I believe.

Thanks - it's the thread size that would be the key - Local shops don't carry the replacement hose so I'd like to only order it once and void the return games.
    Thanks

Update: After checking out some of the vids I went with a 5/16" Flare Cap for $4 at the local HD store.

    Adapting a 1/4" hose to a 3/8" inlet wasn't possible

The only thing that concerns me is the push button on the valve body - I'll check it all for leaks with soapy water before I run it
