    I've lost count....
This is the last week of our season....I am heading up to our hunting camp tonight and will hunt tomorrow and Saturday.

I got out last weekend and ended up "calling" in two black bears- I'm not sure if they came in b/c of my calls or they where just pass'in through, but I always enjoy getting to see them. Hopefully I can put a bird in the freezer...if not at least the trout fishing has been stellar this spring and ANY time in the woods is much better than being in the office :D

^Need a camera for those bear encounters. Nothing like that around here. Some of you guys seem to have a longer season than us. Ours is just two and a half weeks and three weekends.

glad the bow is ready brother. great pics!!!
fantastic Adam! but you better turn around and run, you are going to be hooked for life on this turkey hunting, nuttin like the spring woods!!:D

The Truglo Gobble stopper for my kids shotguns arrived yesterday. I'm really impressed with this red dot. It also has the ring around the dot which should help. Time to get them some target time.

i got a handful of random mouth diaphram calls. practicing, really pushed my poor wife's limits. i went from sounding like a dying duck, to a decent hottie turkey hen.

my nextdoor neighbor has a pet tom turkey. all my clucking has given him permanent wood. so i know i am getting that raspy cutt down.

my wife ran me off..i now practice in my truck during my commute.

good luck guys. i'm gonna rely on my pot calls first, and mouth calls second.

the diaphragm calls kill me. i can never get a good sound out of them. I have a pot and a box call that i have gotten down pretty good. There will be 2 of us in my blind so i wont worry about the mouth call this season.

I do like my mouth calls, but I also like my push button, pot, box, tube, slate over glass, triple glass.......ahhh shoot, I like 'em all, at different times that is.:D

Got the kids TruGlo Gobble Stopper mounted on their shotguns yetserday. Looks pretty good, just need to get them out and tune them in now.

Co-worker told me Friday he seen several birds strutting in his field. Crazy coots, getting all excited already!!

........not me though, the spring turkey woods doesn't get me excited.....I have no problem waiting.......:annoyed:  :der: :ballchain: :frusty: :goingcrazy: ....well, maybe a little bit of a problem.;)

Please allow me to introduce myself.
I am a beady-eyed bird, known by many names.
I am reason unhinged, creator of despair.
I am that which sets your pulse to race and your blood to boil.
In my name you abandon family and responsibility.
In my name you deprive yourself of rest. And to what purpose?
To match wits with a beady-eyed bird.
    But there is no contest.
I am an escape artist. A master of survival, one attuned to an environment of peril.
Raccoons, coyotes, owls, hawks,- these are my real enemies.
    You are child's play.
Oh, I hear you. Talking to me through wood, reed, or slate.
Sometimes you sound so seductive I must investigate.
But I know you, better than you know yourself.
So I have you wait... and wait... and wait.
For you are not patient creatures.

    I watch...

    You move

    AND I AM GONE
