I'll be working them for the next two weeks as I'm on vacation.
Went and scouted one of my spots this morning and caught up with these two guys.
Hope I bump them tomorrow as this state has antiquated no sunday hunting laws.

Good luck on your vacation! And No Sunday Hunting must really suck. It was like that hear when I was a kid but changed quite a while ago.

This is the first year we have Sunday hunting on private land. Next year it will be legal on public :)

A big shout out to Cory Boothe for making this happen....I know he drives a first gen but I don’t think he’s on TW

It’s kind if a mixed blessing lol. I used to get to sleep in on sundays :(

private land bowhunting for deer on Sundays started here a couple years ago...in certain zones.
Don't know if I'll live long enough see it happen, if ever, statewide for everything.

3 years ago I would have said the same thing about any Sunday hunting in WV
All it takes is one very motivated person with great communication skills and an understanding of the issues at hand :)

Cold start today but it warmed up nicely compared to yesterday.
    No gobbles heard.
I had 4 Jakes in some standing corn next to me just out of range. They didn't even reflex gobble like they usually do. Must be a mature Tom around and they got beat up too much, lol.
Back out tomorrow and at least i won't have to wear winter clothes.
    Entertainment for an hour...

Anybody still killing them in GA/AL since the weather warmed up the last couple of days? Figure I've got 1 or 2 more chances to get out as long as it doesn't get too warm.

I gave it a rest today.
Yesterday it was in the mid-80's by 9:30. Saw nothing except for a lone Jake I spooked on the way out.
Other than a couple far off roost gobbles the other morning, I haven't heard a gobble on the ground all week.
I Have another leftover vacation week to burn up, so I'll see what happens next week. Temps are supposed to drop back to "normal".
    Indeed ,a strange season.

Ive had one toying with me, I get him to gobble but hes got a couple hens, so he sticks with them. Usually in the field about 200yds away. I saw 6 elk in the same area;)

Finally connected on the 5th day! :D
    Cooler,"normal" temps.
What I thought were the same 4 Jakes on the hilltop, were a group of about a dozen Toms.
I have never, ever seen a large group of Toms in the Spring like that.
Took about an hour and a half to pull them off the hill.
I was thinking double, maybe triple, until the lead bird made a dash for the dummies and I was in danger of getting busted.
    Anyways, I'll take it.

20180502_082903.jpg 20180502_081852.jpg Myself and a friend from work pulled a double. This was a great hunt, 3 gobblers came in from a different direction than what we were expecting. Almost got busted by the lead turkey but when the 2nd bird walked by him he came on in. I took the 1st clean shot and the other 2 birds started fighting the downed gobbler then my buddy shot one of them. It was a crazy hunt that I'll never forget

Took my 3 and 5 year olds out this weekend, needless to say, it was a riot. Got one killed with them at my side.

Had one gobbling this morning but it either is young jake or rubbed its beard off, because I could see it at all. Almost came in but the cold foggy morning had it really edgy....I prob wont get one unless I stumble on it, fishing season is picking up so Im starting to concentrate on that more :(

    Day 6 update.
Watched 2 Toms come out at daybreak and work their way up a hill in front of me. Hens were up top so I watched the show and glassed them for a couple hours. They were strutting and fighting pretty good.
Henned up and fighting...oh well, we all know how that show goes, lol.
Ticks were out in full force today, uggg.
