Mine work fairly well. They do dim from reflective signs, but not often cuz I live in a very dark rural area that is mostly flat. They work great for oncoming cars. But as mentioned, its really just a toy so I play with it cuz its new to me. Once that wears off, I cant imagine using them much. Its just as easy to flick the stalk myself. Not sure why this would even be something that was "invented". Its just kind of pointless really.

I just went to my truck and opened the owner's manual...saw that page you posted.

I didn't want to do Step 3...because there's nothing wrong with my sensor sensitivity.

Have a friend who wired his ignition to the floor button on his F150. No key needed, hop n go.

    Was pretty slick.

High beams provided by KC Daylighters on the brushguard.

LED interior, license plate, and fog lights. More to come.
Back in the mid 80's my father had an 81 Fleetwood Brougham Cadillac with the auto highbeam system. It suffered from the same issues as most of you are seeing (not turning off soon enough, rapid flashing, dimming highbeams for road signs). Funny to see 40 years of technology is bringing the same issues. LOL. After a few tries he shut it off and dimmed them the old fashioned way. I haven't tried the system on my Tacoma yet but at least my expectations won't be too high when I do.

I use auto beam all the time on country roads. they will dim coming around a corner if there is a metal mailbox witch reflects my Hi beams and they will lower automatically that is the sure way of knowing they are on.
