Whoever asked this question obviously does not live in Florida. We never turn off the a/c down here.

LOL, well 110 isnt too bad. Its when it gets into the high 100 teens that it gets horrible. I'll never forget our 122* day years ago. Then the state decided to change the way it reported the temp because they got scared that it was going to frighten away tourists. On our job sites, I regularly see 120*+ temps in the summer. :(

I turn it off when I get to where I am going. So that way it is already off when I get back in.

I always turn mine off as well. Not sure where I go the idea that it was the thing to do, but I have done it on every vehicle I have owned.

The AC if for the weak. I grew up in southern AZ for the first 20 years of my life. From the time I was 16 till the time I joined the Coast Guard at 20 all the vehicles I drove had no ac and I relied on the 4x40 rule. I joined the CG and I sold my old CRX, I maintained for the first year in the CG then upon orders to Alaska did I acquire my first air conditioned vehicle (ironic isn't it). To this day I have never used the AC. I traveled down to Phoenix in July of 2007 and drove my Dad's 2004 Tacoma and the whole time never once used the AC. What can I say I love the heat.

Turning off the A/C is part of my shut-down check list.

Never thought to turn it off on any of my other vehicles. Although, after the taco started making a horrible sounding noise for about 1 to 2 seconds on occasion after leaving the a/c on, now it is always off when i start the truck. Kind of makes me think something could be wrong with the compressors clutch.

X2 for this one. Hey quick question for whoever can answer it:
I've heard that after you turn off your a/c and before you shut off your truck that you should just let the vent blow out all the rest of the cold air and then some for some reason. Is this true? If it is, why?

Might be to prevent condensation and therefor the possibility of mold? I believe i read on the second page of the thread that some people were doing this. Sounds like a good idea.

Hey thats cool to know! Yeah I used to be a cheap ass and worry about my gas mileage but I remember reading somewhere that it doesn't even effect it that much so I use it regularly now in the summer time. Not now though since its friggin 10 degrees outside!!

I posted a page or so back that the reason why I do this before getting to my destination is to give the condensor time to thaw. Keeps it from dripping on my garage floor when I park at home. There's no other real reason to do this though with modern A/C systems.

I did it again. Got tired of paying truck payments and gas and traded in for a 2015 Honda Accord Sport since I enjoyed my 2013 Sport so much.
    While starting, yes.

After it starts I like to turn the AC on to warm up the engine quicker.
