    Oh what a feeling!

The '10 with TRAC is way more drivable than the '05 or '01 I had before! Traction Control and A-TRAC take this pickup into a whole new league of off road machines!

Anyone who thinks open differentials is better, must have time warped here from the 1950's! There is no advantage to have only one tire spin per axle when that tire is in the air while the other is on firm ground.

Starting with the 2009 Tacoma, Toyota put in TRAC/AUTO LSD in all Tacomas. In addition, Off Road 4WDs got A-TRAC. Look below and click on my link on the traction controls (A-TRAC, TRAC, AUTO LSD Explained) to see what they are all about.

Will any of the above options turn off the alarming beep sound that goes off?

The beep-beep-beep is the VSC (not the traction controls, although one uses the other) alertring you that you should slow down as it is working to prevent you from spinning out or rolling over! Look at the chart I posted on the previos page... Select the VSC OFF MODE. It turns off VSC and TRAC (open differntials), but will come back on automatically to save you from wrecking! LOL

Hold the VSC button ( car with squiggly lines ) for 5 seconds when stopped to " disable " the VSC system .

    No more beeping .

    Especially annoying on snow

It is just as annoying on sand, too! It really bugged me when my truck was new... good thing it worked so well that I got used to it... Now it is like the truck talking to me, saying 'working-working-working'.

Nice! Thanks to you and the others on TW. I think my toyos are the issue, I have the procomp 6" with vsc. It is sensitive, although I think I am in better shape than some, doesn't happen often. I will just turn off each time. Still worth getting the lift, ha! Will post pics soon, it's pouring in Texas, no time to take pics.
