Well... I live in New Jersey so I guess it's ok my tpms is not functional and I think this is a great fix. This will literally take 5 minutes with no tools or cutting into wires.

I have a hard time believing that pulling the headliner out of the way is quicker than the wire splice behind the HVAC controller that I posted earlier. Plus, it actually works, so there's that...

It didn't really make sense to me that the truck wouldn't complain about a missing receiver, and I think you all are proving my point.

The author of that thread pulled apart a lot of the dash to do it. All you really need to pull is the HVAC controller. The TPMS module is directly behind it. I unplugged that module, did the splice, and plugged it back in within a few minutes without removing anything but the HVAC controller.

I did it. Took me literally 2 minutes but unfortunately my light did not turn off. I have a 2011 access cab

When I did this on my 2010 access cab the tpms box was red, not black. Maybe that's why it worked for OP and not for mine.

So this box is located in the same spot on all 2005+ and cab types?

Tried the OPs method today and only result I got was that the light flashed longer before staying lit. Super simple (no tools) and was worth a shot.. Too bad it didn't work.

This was on a 2012 DCSB.

If that's the case, let's make this a sticky...... Just like the "How To: Unlock All Doors With One Click" thread.

So, my box is red instead of black. Unplugging it only cause the light to blink longer before staying on.

2006 tacoma tried this mod and it didn't work at all, super easy to do without removing the entire headliner but no luck. Light still blinks and I also lost my cruise control. Back to square one. Delete this crap mod seriously, you didn't notice or care to check all systems before posting this crap? I guess you don't have cruise control would be the only answer, if you do have it then you're an idiot. I suppose that makes me the bigger idiot for thinking this would work knowing the TPMS is tied into the cruise control system. I found this out by trying to disable it from the reset button (quite a few yrs back) soon as I reconnected it my cruise control was back on, removed the black box from my sporty turd and there went my cruise control. As far as my words are concerned grow a pair and ignore them. Ask me if I care how long i'm a member I don't. I just want to get a decent working fix to this obvious money grabbing fed mandated nonsense, not some fix no one bothered to fallow up on. Basic electrical knowledge should have told most of us it wouldn't work but I gave it a shot sue me, provide a solution not more fuel to a fire.

the OP has a sport, so he does have cruise control.

    A. @averagejoe123 did something wrong

    B. the wiring on the sensor was changed somewhere from 2007 to 2011and now it is not tied with cruise control.
