I have an 06 and the simplest way to disable it was to ground a specific wire located in the passenger side foot well. Don't remember off the top of my head. All functions work and the light is no more. I disabled it for two reasons, 1. The batteries are shot in the sensors and 2. I check my tire pressure weekly or every other week. Works for me.

It would be nice to know which wire. Pic if possible. Thanks.

OP states to simply unplug the box. I had tried with no success.

In 9+ years, I may have used cruise once.

Sorry, had to dig it up. Now i remember. I had to snip one wire on the driver side and ground another on the passenger. Heres the guide i followed. Its been 9 months so far with no issues. This worked on my 06 SR5 DC. https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/complete-tpms-disable-guide.161292/

I believe wiring tricks work the same for 05 to 08 models. I think wiring changes a little with facelifts.

may I please get a pic of the specific harness, I see one that is taped to a wire cluster in the area given but I just want to make sure so I don't do something stupid. Specifically the passenger side apparently there is a mod that works off that side by shoving a wire into the blue #4 slot and grounding it. It only works on 06 and some early 07 models 05 did not have TPMS system. OOPS nvm as I scrolled down I saw it and I have the right one THANK YOU!!!! update: confirmed as well worked like a charm thanx again.

Just scroll down on the link provided down below, confirmed it worked like a charm light is gone. It is in fact the small white wire harness tapped to a cluster on the right hand side, there is only one that is like that not too hard to miss and only one blue wire in that harness super easy to get to once you remove the glove box and kick panel. There is a small bracket (presumably the one that holds down the side panel) light grey in color with one 10 mm bolt undo that ground your wire to the bolt done. I reconnected the stupid box and the light still remains off so that process is totally unnecessary. I did not need to do anything on the drivers side took me all of 5 min. Hope this helps. Finally a solution.

My tires are all at proper pressure yet the TPMS light is always on. So no, they dont do their job well.

I wonder if the 08 is like this...I'd rather unplug it than cut and splice and add fuse link as in other posts...is yours still off

I just made a canister to put them in. Sure the batteries will die some day but it will be easy enough to change them without busting down a tire.

How long do the batteries typically last? Mine are 10 years old.

Second owner of this 2007 doing a rebuild on it.

Stock rims but unsure if tpm sensors are in the rims or if they are working or what

I am fine without it just want the light gone

My TPMS system hasn't worked properly since the truck was new; anytime we drove above some elevation the light would turn on and stay on till we drove below that elevation. Now one of the sensors has a dead battery or is broken so the light comes on every time you start the truck.

If it's just a dead battery, the one in my spare lasted 8 years.
