Have any of you seen this happen before? Just got to work, been driving through 8"~ of snow and its not overly cold or anything..but when I turned the truck off and got out, it started beeping at me. The message on the dash says "Turn Power OFF"....odd.. the truck is off. I press the start engine (brake not pressed) button to see if it was on accessory or whatever, nope. Turn the truck on and the message is still up...turning the truck on and back off again fixed it.

THE FIX: I immediately pulled out my cigarette lighter usb charger and it went off as normal. My GoPro is messed up and won’t turn on now and I think that is causing it. No idea how, but once it’s unplugged the message goes away. I am thinking the gopro was backfeeding into the port or something.

Does the Owners Manual explain why that screen comes up?

Ha ha, I never looked. But, I do remember thinking I turned the truck off before putting it in park.

Hmm, I hope my truck is in park lol. Oh god, maybe I should go double check that.

Nah, no way I left it in a gear, it would of said put it in park pretty sure. And it would be long gone at this point :p

I've only seen that message when I didn't have it in park.

Says the guy with a second gen. How did you get in? Owner must have left the gate open again.

I’ve had this happen a few times when I either didn’t put it in Park, or maybe turned it off too soon as I was shifting to Park.

I just ran out in the damn blizzard to make sure I did have it in park and yep, it was. Must of just been a fluke.

The gear selector in his picture showed it was in park. My truck lately has done something similar when it was cold. Almost like the accessory was still on as I was getting out. I didn’t notice that message but perhaps it did appear. One time I actually cycled the accessory and ignition just because I thought it was left on somewhere. I didn’t really investigate as I was in a hurry and it was cold as hell outside

Good point, didn't even think to check the indicator in the picture. My experience today, it was beeping and wouldn't let me lock the truck.

Thanks for finding and posting that info. I did have my truck in park when it was turned off, I double checked that. I also did cycle through the power modes via the engine switch, nothing. Started the truck up, still there. Only went away when I turned it off again and back on.

Again, just chopping it up to a fluke. It it happens again today then I may be concerned.

By the way, I’ve sort of had the opposite happen with the push button start: hit the starter and immediately pull it into reverse and it dies, presumably because the starter is still spinning or hasn’t been de-energized fully. So maybe there’s some delays between the gear indicator or neutral safety signal and the power switch ... software latency or just a capacitor holding voltage for a second.

I’ve had it happen a few times, seems to be when you turn off at the same time as (or just after) opening the door. Just walk away and lock it, it’ll sort itself out.
