Hi All, my drivers side bulb signal bulb went out. When I removed it the black plastic was melted quite a bit and the orange bulb looked like it had a fire in it.
Replaced the bulb, within 1 hr. the same thing happened, obivously a short but how would I check for that? Has anyone else experienced this and fixed it? thanks

Same thing. My front driver side signal bulb/DTRL burned out a couple months ago. It too looked like the whole socket had been quite hot. Now the replacement bulb is burned out too, with a lot more damage to the socket. Now I'm having a hard time keeping a new bulb maintaining connectivity with the socket.

Most auto parts stores will sell a replacement bulb socket. Wire it in and you will be good to go.

Sounds like you should switch to an LED bulb. They won't burn hot like the filament ones do.

I saw my DRL lenses had melted and found out that since I'm out of warranty Toyota won't fix the issue. However, I replaced the DRL bulbs with LED's since they don't run hot. Now, my blinkers blink twice as fast. Any suggestions on correcting this? Is there any danger to the electrical system?
