I'd really like to get myself one of those radiator insulators because I could really see that increasing your power through reduced heat loss but $199 is a bit steep. Does anyone have any idea what they use for insulation? Maybe a guy could make a homemade version by just slapping a pillow one either side of the rad and duct taping it in place. Maybe some fibreglass house insulation? What do you guys think would work best?

Those radiator fins really cause some incredible heat loss. You might try wrapping it with an electric blanket; that's what I did. You can find them at Walmart pretty cheap. Of course, you'd have to get an AC/DC converter, or run a long extension cord if you have the outlet in the bed. I can't believe Toyota would make a radiator that loses so much heat. They obviously didn't think it through.

Wow! I never even considered an electric blanket. That would be twice as effective, you'd think. I'll have to give that a shot. Did you route your cord under the vehicle to the outlet or do you think there's a way to hook it up straight off the alternator?

You probably couldn't wire it directly off the alternator as it's a DC source whereas most electric blankets are AC. I routed my wire around the exhaust pipe. The heat of the exhaust makes the wiring's insulation extra sticky and causes good adhesion so it stays in place.

To hold the blanket on, I just took a roll of duct tape and wrapped it around the radiator. That also provides a good wind block as most electric blankets still let some air through. When you're done, be sure to spray paint it black so it looks good through the grill, especially if you have a Grillcraft.

It works good. I mounted the controller in the cab of my truck near the window controls for easy access. That way, I can adjust the heat to get it quickly in the red. When the engine reaches the "H" on the gauge (heated), I know it's ready to go. I've included some pictures below. One shows the controller placement and the other shows my blanket wrapped around my radiator just prior to painting. I found this blanket on sale. I went with the purple plaid as I think it goes better with duct tape.

I'd pass up on the radiator blanket right now if I were you.
I've got the inside scoop, as I just sold them the patent rights to the
    Double Add-a-Cylinder Kit.
You just bolt it on and you'll make your V6 a V8!!

    No drilling or cutting required!

The slant kit is required for I-4 engines.:(

Hey, has anybody seen those Solar Heated Headlights? I can't find them anywhere. They say these lights will increase your gas milage as much as 50%. I was curious if anybody has them.
