I had to replace the clock spring in my Toyota. After I got it all back together the light was out and everything was working. I started to back up out of the barn and as soon as I turn the steering wheel the airbag light came on.My horn still works and my radio control on the steering wheel works. But my air bag light is still on and I noticed the turn signals are not cancelling when I go around a corner. I don't think I snapped anything inside the steering wheel I will have to take it off next weekend to see. I really don't know what cancels the turn signal. It maybe that piece under the clock spring.Does anyone know?

I think there's a little stationary lever inside that's activated by a tooth on the clock spring. I looked at it once when I had the steering wheel apart. There might be a component like that lever missing. Hope you figure it out.

Did you figure this out? My left blinker does not cancel but my right one does. No airbag light either. Really annoying.

For OP I would assume your clockspring is physically broken, not wiring but that the little tab is broken off.

For other person who's blinker cancels only one way I would say to check your switch but your clockspring could be just damaged enough that it still turns off one side and not the other, if that's the case I would assume in the near future both blinkers will no longer turn off.

Thanks for the reply. I figured I was going to have to take it apart twice. Once to diagnose and the other for replacement.

Just replaced my clockspring and all the electronics worked, but the turn signal wouldn't always cancel. Got back into the clockspring and find that I didn't press it in well enough to engage the three clips that hold it in place. Engaged all three clips properly and everything works correctly including turn signal cancellation.
