2 months ago I bought a 2012 DCLB that already had AlphaRex Pro Series Headlights, which the dealer told me the previous owner had put on the truck. I’ve looked at the wiring and it all looks correct, but for some reason my turn signals do not work on these headlights. It’s not the common flashing issue I’ve seen posts about online, they just simply don’t work. I am at a loss for what to do. I’ve emailed their support and called once with no answer either time.

Are the turn signals part of the AlphaRex or are they just stock bulbs?

Are your rear turn signals working?

If an LED bulb has been put in it can cause issues. And turn signals won't work or I think you might get hyper flash but I could be wrong...

I don't necessarily agree. The brand has had issues but there are no good options for headlights. Ive had a set of pros on my 08 no durability issues and they are far better and brighter than the stock ones that also have issues with melting the drl. Issues come when guys buy the pros and put a cheap LED in.

I need to make a correction - I actually have the Luxx series and did not realize.

Since my last post, I have taken my truck to an accessories shop where they told me it appears everything is connected properly, and essentially they had no idea. Just by looking at the wiring, I can tell that the previous owner had some issues with it too, as it looks like they got “creative” with trying to fix it. Even with their “creativity,” the wiring still appears to be connected properly. My parking lights and signals still do not work.

    Does anyone have any ideas?
    Thanks!

I’ll link a picture below that will show the DRL and the headlight beams working properly.

My rear turn signals work just fine. As far as I know (being the second owner of the truck and not getting any response from the previous owner), the bulbs are from the AlphaRex headlights.

It would help to see the actual wiring. Alpharex Luxx series requires you to wire in additional power to the lights. It has a small relay box that you need to wire into a +12v ign and a black wire for ground. The relay box connects between the DRL wires and the battery and +12v ign source. The red wire should have a fuse on it. I would also check that fuse to see if it's popped.

Luxx relay box: Black > ground, Red > +12v (battery), Gray > +12v ign (either fuse tapped in the MFI relay in the engine fuse box, or wire is inside the cabin fuse box).

Post pics of your wiring in detail. I have the same Luxx headlights and haven't had any problems with them.

    If the wiring is correct:

    1. Get a multimeter and test the wiring harness from the vehicle side to make sure you're getting voltage when the signal is activated.
    2. Once you establish the connection has power, connect an OEM bulb harness and regular bulb to see if the bulb will light up as normal.
    3. Post results.

I appreciate your help, but I have should have been more specific and updated this post already.
I have already connected the multimeter to the signals and while they do light up when connected to power, they do not work once plugged into the truck. I have yet to try plugging in an OEM bulb (I bought the truck with these already installed so I do not have one) and I have pretty much narrowed it down to the truck. I am not sure what part of the truck is causing this, but again, no fuses are burnt, everything (now that I fixed it) is wired correctly, and both my signals work in the rear.

    Any other suggestions?

How did you supply power to the headlights? Did you connect the gray wire to the battery? Where is the gray wire tapped into? If you think the truck is the problem, connect an oem bulb and see if it lights up. If it doesn't, then you should check the control box. You didn't specify if you have a TRD model, but some you may have a relay instead of the control box. If it does light up, then it's possible the alpharex relay is bad.

I installed the Luxx series as well for my 08 Super White TRD Offroad. I am having the same problem with turn signals not working for the headlights. In an installation video I saw the gentleman put the fuse into his engine bay fuse box, Alpha Rexx in THEIR installation have you run their harness with the fuse through your firewall and into the fuse box in the cab. I am going to try this tomorrow because I also have an issue with LED strip in the headlights not turning off when the truck is completely off and having me disconnect my battery whenever I turn in for the day. I also am missing an OEM connection from the truck where the old turn signal bulb was. I will update this thread if I can remember to on my next steps.

I have ARex Nova lights on my ‘06. If the harness is the same, check the yellow wire where the connection is made to the stock lights and the ARex connector. Mine was loose, and pushed out the back of the plug. PITA to reseat it, but that was my problem.

Do the turns happen to work with the parking light or headlights to the ON position? I have a set that came on my truck and the turns do not work if the parking lights or headlights are not turned on. I believe the previous owner did not install them properly to get power without it coming from the light harness itself when they are turned on.
