    working on them
I am posting this for people like myself who are searching google for answers, as well as a show of appreciation for the help I got from this forum in diagnosing this issue.

I just got a 96 tacoma, and the blinkers were working. After doing some other things they stopped working. Nothing at all. Not even the dash.

After finding the wiring diagram on this forum, I diagnosed the problem as the flasher button. Apparently, the current flows through the flasher switch before going to the relay and switch.

The problem was the location of the cup holder. Someone long before me had a soda in the cup holder that spilled and got in the flasher button, and EVERYWHERE else. The button would not fully return to the off position, which prevented the current from reaching the turn signal switch and relay.

Thanks to the individual who posted the complete wiring diagram for the 1st gen tacoma, and the individual who posted the service manual. I thought the switch was out, but the service manual had the diagnostics to test the switch and it functioned. After studying the wiring diagram for some time I found the flasher switch issue. I never would have found the problem without that information.

Rebuilding seats with leather from furniture and extra padding. Might put leather on the dash and other interior parts.
    Thanx. You fixed my taco.
