not much done today, had to do actual work for the man.
Seat is mounted and solid, picked up a 90 for the exhaust, I think it will work just fine.

handlebars, foot pegs, motor plate, brake and throttle controls, maybe a couple fenders and she'll be ready to rip. Chain will be here on Friday if USPS can manage it.

4.5" ACE Hardware multi purpose exhaust. But it's girthy at 2" across, so it's kind of throaty sounding, and really rips when you hammer down on it.

Made the mount for the brake band and hooked it up. The cable shown is NOT the cable the will be used, it's just there for looks.
Drilled out a 1" x 1/2" block and threaded it for 3/8 x 16 threads, welded to the frame. Drilled an 1/8" hole in the approximate location it needed to be in the bolt for a cotter pin to keep the band centered.

I have a 12" piece of 3/4" all-thread that has done nothing for years but take up space.
I also have two 3/4" castle nuts that are useless to this project. I might weld the nuts to the frame and use the all-thread as the foot pegs...

New tires are supposed to be delivered today. I won't bother to change them though until I have the wheels off for the final time to paint the thing

Trimmed up the motor plate, reversed the clutch and set it up to see what I forgot to check.
The foot pegs might need to be an inch longer, just to help tuck that right foot under the motor. We'll see how it does.
Chain should be here today, still need handlebars and brake/throttle controls, which I may just order from Amazon as the kit comes with cables and grips is under $30 and it will be a legit twist throttle to fit 1" diameter bar.

Thinking of a springer style upgrade to the front forks...
I can keep what's currently there, and add the springer part to it.

That seat looks 100x more comfortable than the 1st gen seats that destroy my soul.

    Motor plate mounting slots

    Fitting the chain

Test run showed the chain playing slap and tickle with the motor plate.

Made the necessary adjustments and welded the plate from the underside.

Wheel go round and round. I have video, but too lazy to post it up. Maybe during my beer I might get motivated.

Are the slots for adjusting chain tension?

Yes. The chain will stretch pretty quick too. Next step is to weld a 3/8 nut to the back of the plate and run a bolt through it to make it easier to tension the chain.
It was tight when I first put it on, and just running it for a few minutes stretched it enough to make slack.
The go kart chain was 1/3 the length of this one and i moved the motor about 1/4" before it settled.
Wouldn't be surprised if this ends up moving near an inch before it settles.

Swapped the old tired for the new ones as they wouldn't hold air for more than 5 minutes.

Younger brother needed help with O2 sensor replacement. I came home with two dozen fresh duck eggs and his son's bicycle that I promptly stripped for parts.

Bars are on, modified the twist shifter to be free moving and I have a legit twist throttle.
Just left ACE, picked up a universal cable set and after I hydrate a bit,i might have a working brake.
Took it for a quick ride around the yard. Sketchy as fuck.

I think I mentioned somewhere that the engine in stock aspiration just wasn't putting out like it was with the homemade air cleaner and after market exhaust. So I put the homemade air cleaner back on it and holy horsepower!
But it sticks out the side about 6" like a sore dick and might get whacked off by my leg or a tree.
So I opened up the stocker. It's not quite as peppy, but is better and no longer cuts out.
I'll re-visit the air cleaner thing later. I have an idea.

Original intake was about 1 1/8". I opened it up to 2" x 3" more or less.
