Turning off Auto Lock feature (Manual Transmission)

Is it possible to change the auto lock setting ?

Currently, the passenger side door will lock at some as yet undetermined time while driving or something, so that when I go to open it it will sometimes be locked.

I dont want it to ever lock unless I want it locked. How can I keep this from happening?

Truck is a 4cyl MT 4x4

 

I can change that in the head unit on mine I believe. Check the manual.

Page 113 of the manual: it is set to lock at 12mph, and can be set or cancelled. Check the head unit.

 

Are you talking about the safety feature that locks the doors once above a certain speed? My tuck does this too. Doesn't bother me as it seems like a good safety feature. Maybe the dealer can clear it out of the programming?

 

saw this in the manual but it says for auto transmissions only... Ill check the head unit...

 

Good catch, missed that. It's got to be in there somewhere, and if not, the dealer should be able to do it for you.

 

why would they make that specific to the type of tranny? what were they thinking?

 

Just looked through the head unit, no ability to change anything regarding locking.... seems like the dealer would need to do this, if it is even possible.

 

I have the MT, on my head unit push apps then push setting scroll right to vechicle then door locks.

Click vehicle

Click customization the truck needs to be running in neutral I set park brake not sure that is needed. At this point if it's grey give it a minute to communicate with itself. Mine turned white less than a minute.

Click lock settings

Uncheck 1st one as I have done.

 

@WSC 2016 TRD off road what do the rest of the options on that page do? I dont have my truck yet to try it out myself.

Unlock drivers door unlocks all, there is also some light options like how long dome light stays on as you walk away. You can turn off daytime running lights.

 

I don't know what auto relock is so I turned it off.

 

auto relock is if you accidentally unlock your vehicle, it will automatically re lock itself after a certain time period as long as you don't open a door

my FR-S had the same option in techstream; i turned it off

 

Boy, I can't manage my camera, this may be trouble. I need something from the 70's.

hmmm, dont think the SRs have this option, as as far as I can tell I dont have a "driver" app

 

I've got the same vehicle as original poster, and as he mentioned the option shown above is not available.

Was wondering and hoping someone was able to figure out how to disable the auto-lock feature as it has locked my doors in different scenarios. Not just when I unlocked doors and didnt open any, but also when I've opened and closed them I've had it lock the doors after a period of time. So much so that I constantly make sure I have the keys on me when I exit the vehicle.
