My 2015 started making loud rushing sounds when the ac was on and then I was driving down the road and my IG1 #2 fuse popped. I replaced the fuse and now every time I try to turn the ac on it blows the fuse.

I was going to check the compressor but thought I might ask you guys before I start taking the skid plate off and everything.

    thank you!

When you say turn the A/C on, do you mean the fan speed or the actual AC button?
If it’s the A/C button, pull the MG CLT relay and see if it still blows.

If it blows when the fan runs pull the HTR relay and see what happens.

We need to isolate the issue.

Yes, it’s when I pressed the AC button.

I pulled that MG CLT relay and the AC was blowing and the AC button light was blinking. Didn’t pop the IG1 #2 fuse thou!!

Clutch mag probably broke or similar and rotated and pinched power wire against the compressor housing. Seen it a few times..

See if you can reach down and move the mag and wires

Reached down and the wire connections I circled in red are super tight in there and I couldn’t tell if the wire disconnect I circled in green was good or not. I think I might need to take the skidplate off for that.

so you think it’s the wiring or should I start ordering a new compressor?

The crap that’s on the line and on the face of the compressor looks like it might have separated.
I would disconnect the clutch connector and see if the fuse blows.
Can you turn the outside of the compressor with your hand?

Yeah I can turn the clutch with my hand.

How does this connection disconnect? Do I just pull out or is there a tab? Or should I disconnect it at the green circle disconnect?

You might as well take the skid off.
Follow the wire from the clutch to the connector. I think it’s white. There is a tab…

Ok with the skid off I uplughed the clutch and it didn’t pop the fuse. The second I plugged it in it popped the fuse! So looks like my compressor clutch is the issue! Thank you so so much for your help! I appreciate it so much!
Can you think of anything to check for? When I start the car up it’s got a real loud wooshing sound then goes away after a min even if the fan or ac aren’t on. Do you think the compressor can cause that?

Big swoosh sounds like the clutch fan doing its thing.
    Should be ok.
