I too, would like to know. Because 164864837462,836393962 U turns later, I’m still Gucci. No turning extra wide or anything.

If anything the reduction of the caster due to lift (like all lifts) would result in a slightly better turning radius. But wider rims may make it feel worse.

All current Toyota trucks have awful turning radius's. I have no idea why Toyota put so much effort to make it ride better on the highway and lose low speed sharp turn angles.

I suppose it depends on how loosely you're using the term "bigger." To me, that means larger diameter, which won't affect turning radius in any way. But if you're using it to also mean "wider" then yes, that will have an effect proportionate to 50% the increase in width because 1/2 of the width increase is on the inside of the scrub radius. Whereas, increasing wheel offset has a 100% effect because it's all on the outside of the spindle.

Turning radius on my 4G TH was shite from the factory. Actually really disappointing.

The Tacoma having a better turning radius was a mechanical advantage over the competition. It's like Toyota forgot why people bought their trucks to begin with.

There was two hvac trucks out front today, a new Colorado and a Maverick. Both trucks look about the same size I was thinking why did Toyota need to make the Tacoma larger? If they didn't offer the Tundra I could see why they wanted a bigger Tacoma. Then I was thinking what does the Tacoma offer over the Colorado and Maverick? I couldn't really think of anything that stands out, I think I prefer the Tacoma over any other new small truck offering but nothing really stands out as to why that is unlike the previous generation Tacomas compared to what the competition offered.

My turning radius decrease is from the zero offset wheels. Not the lift as much.

Way back when Tacoma 2nd gen 2WD came out it was a big advantage it had, it was advertised as car-like, which it was. We test drove all the models and it was unusual to drive such an easy truck.

Now the 4th gen is refined in too many places that don't matter. It's a small truck, it should behave like it. But the new Stout/Mini truck is coming, and its likely intentional how Toyota built this.

I thought 5lug Toyota trucks before the Tacoma had IFS? I've never looked in to what kind of suspension they had. I know it was different from the 6lugs but that's about it and they still probably drove like trucks.

With the size of the 4G I still don't know why Toyota isn't offering the GX engine in the Tacoma as an option? The t4 is enough to get the truck downnthe road, and the hybrid probably does it that much easier. The tt6 would still tow better and offer a greater range of torque over the t4 hybrid. The tt6 seems like the missing piece to the 4G puzzle. Maybe after the Stout shows up Toyota will offer a ttv6 option for the Tacoma. The only real issue would be range with the small 4G tank and thirstier ttv6.

Does the GX have the same size tank as the LC250? Presumably all midsize GAF trucks have the same size gas tank. Might not be an issue with GX buyers as the V8 GX sold very well and that had to be thistier than the ttv6.

Yeah I’ll be making the switch to a more positive offset. I love the wide track look but man the berth on this turning radius is huge now lol.
