I’ll be going down to the Bay Area here soon, I’m looking at renting a car for my first time through Turo.

    Does anyone have experience/feedback?
I found a nice 18’ BMW M3 for $110/day which seems nice but before I make a reservation I would like to get some feedback.

    Thanks!

Busted CV boots and lots of squeaks.
I've used this service several times while traveling to Utah for ski trips. Always had great experiences and no troubles.
The group I usually go with has even rented the same cars from the same people multiple times. Our trip is the same time each year and we pretty much pre book the vehicles very early.
We fly into SLC and the cars are waiting in the lot.
They will do a driving record check. I had to run mine because my buddies record was not good enough. Anything like multiple speeding tickets or accidents and they will decline you. Your record needs to be clean.

I used Turo to rent a Taco to get around the mountains in CO. Definitely didn’t save me any money, but it let me borrow exactly the vehicle I wanted to. It’s better than traditional rental car services since people tend to take better care of their vehicles than rental fleets would.

In my one experience using Turo their customer service took great care of me. A vehicle I had reserved stood me up and the Turo team was able to have a badass Wrangler replacement to me in thirty minutes.

I proceeded to drive the fuck out of that yellow Jeep Wrangler. Constant e-braking, rain storm with no top, and multiple donuts.

Takeaway; don't ever rent-out your car through Turo.
