    Yes
    If your looking for options, you can get some 1/4" ply and book-match the bottom pieces then glue them to the ply. That way when you're looking into the drawer, it'll not look like ply. However, if you flip and look at the bottom of the drawer box, you'll see the ply. If you dont have a vacuum bag, put some wax paper down on top of the project then put something heavy on top or make clamping cauls.
