The one in the picture or in general? So far I've only made one that is cut correctly. :anonymous:

Because I've messed them all up so far, I've sold them discounted for 70. The one in the picture will be discounted cause there's an obvious line where I had to added on more material in the middle of a row of squares. :annoyed:

The ones I do correctly will depend on size and material. Walnut, purple heart, curly maple are the more expensive woods. Cherry, hickory, oak and regular maple are less expensive.

Here's the first one I've done right. Its cherry and maple and about 10.5" x 10.5". Still needs a. Stamp, but it will be ready for the finish as soon as I get it stamped.

Here's what I mean by an obvious line. It was sad too cause this one was almost perfect!

For non cutting board stuff. You can use spar finish. Its basically weather proofing or bar top finish.

Or maybe even salad bowl finish. We run some wood utensils through dishwasher and it holds up to that surprisingly well

No finish is truly waterproof, if you find one the US Navy would like to speak with you.

Spar varnish on top of epoxy is typically used by wooden boat builders to that's a good suggestion.

I'd like one with lots of dark/light contrast. Is that possible? Like the one in the pic ^^^^

I'd like it for my kid's bday, it's April 17. Whatcha think?

Too late now, but you can always take a scrap piece leftover from making the heart and stain that to give you an idea of what the heart would look like stained before deciding how to finish it.
