    One suggestion, late considering you have stained already, but ...

    I am an engineer so I think "safety factors". On the arms, I assume the hanging chains will be close to those arms. Even with screws, there might be some "play" developing over time. If you put another short 2x4 bit directly under the armrest and vertically between the two upright holders for the armrest that will solidify and prevent chains from pulling the arms-assembly out of shape. Cut to "interference fit", small screws at angle to attach, stain the new support member.

    But then I am an engineer think like that ...

    It's up in the air if it will be a swing or a garden bench, so it may just get feet. If it gets chains though, they will come out a bit from the base at an angle, so the arms should be safe. But I can re-evaluate when the decision is made. :thumbsup:
