I'd love to get then professionally done so I dont have to do it, but I don't have the means to do it. I used to have a dslr but ended up giving it to someone who needed it far more than me and I never really got th hang of it, though truthfully, I didn't put in the time to do so. :anonymous:

I have some solid white backgrounds for some of the photos I'm sending, I thought she might like options of staged and solid backgrounds.

Photography is hard when you actually need nice pictures. :annoyed:

Check your attic for ladybugs over-wintering ... they do that.

Question for Miss Mollie ... you build and have presumably ready for sale within days. Some of the sealing products say "do not expose to water for 2 weeks minimum (one says 3-5 days, another says "up to 4 weeks").

How do you prepare finish and seal in short time? As simple as "polyurethane"?

Which products are we talking about? My boards are posted when they are ready for sale which means after drying and curing, but the products I use take days, not weeks for curing.

Odie's Oil is recommended by woodshop ... still unopened. Others say Walrus Oil (they have a furniture butter). Odie's says water-ready maybe after 3-5 days. Wlarus says weeks. I have used poly before ... badly ... but learned my lesson about it and would not repeat those errors.

Depends...if its just serving tray most stuff will dry in 3 days, fully cure on poly can be up to 30days. Usually says on the can.

I usually give poly a week during warm weather just so its not tacky. Otherwise if its thick coat anything can scratch it dent. If the poly is thick such as spar finish it can be thinned with mineral spirits. But dont go over 50/50 mix. Only reason to thin it is to get it to absorb more.

Mineral oil I apply heavy coat then let sit overnight then 2-3 more coats. All should look pretty uniform and not botchy. Apply more to blotchy then let soak, wipe off excess. Usually 2-3days is sufficient for most stuff as it takes that long for shipping

I have maple bits left, no spare on walnut/oak. I will try butcher block on spare maple before moving to full food/drinks tray. I do not mind telling nephew that a re-coat of butcher-block oil is good every now and then.

We used to use paint thinner to thin out our poly. Acetone works as well. We'd rarely use it unless we knew we wouldn't have enough to finish the initial coat. Second/Third coat usually went on pretty thick
