I know. Again. I got it bad last year! This is just a little on my forearm.

 

There is a tick encounter almost every day around here . It was my fault I didn’t spray down before heading to the woods . Just walking the dog anywhere he gets ticks on him. Even on the blacktop
Mild winter means explosion of tick population unfortunately.

 

Many people here I know have had it . One friend has a permanent heart murmur from getting Lyme disease . It affects everyone differently. Another person I know gets blood transfusions from contracting Lyme disease . It’s bad around here . Ticks carry multiple diseases not just Lyme .

 

This is from 2020 in an old pipe coming out from the basement.

 

No ticks yet, just the dreaded Snowasps.

Few people know about them….and they’re scared.

 

Tick's were super bad last year here in Southern PA. I had to constantly spray myself and clothes. I had one even somehow crawl up and latch itself under my beard

It wasn't there long obviously, but I kept a vigilant look out on the redness.

I assume this year will probably be the same. Winter didn't get cold, but maybe for a week.

 

Does the Mama come back every year to that same nest?

 

Not sure. I think I have seen them a couple years but not every year. It's a bit close to cat access so they might not find it safe enough anymore.

 

Not sure when I should put up my hummingbird feeders either. I think we probably have a little more time before they show up here, but I don't really know.

 

Down here Mid March to April…I’ve got all mine up but haven’t seen any yet.
