It was around $65 back then. Now it's almost $90.

I needed it for the air compressor.

While David Attenborough works on the script ... a genuine suggestion. If you heard this already, please forgive. If not, I hope this helps.

I heard from someone somewhere that angles can be made less tricky if you do not expect perfection from the cut. Even a chopsaw can wiggle/travel on its axis a little skewed. The technique I heard was to intentionally undercut a 45 degree angle instead of trying to exactly cut. Kerf will catch up to you. Instead of trying 45, cut 44 and compensate on the bottom side of the 45 to leave a little more of the acute angle part to adjust as required. If the axis is off and it overcuts, 44 becomes your intended 45. If it cuts exactly 44, you can carefully manually adjust the joints because you saved some material.

I have 15-ish ft of 12/3 extension cord. Pricier than most cords, but can handle "full normal room" load.

I did hear something like this I think, but I havent tried it yet. I also heard putting a shim under the pieces when you cut will help keep the front seem tighter as well.

Thanks for sharing! I do appreciate it. :)

A playing card works well for the shim. Place it against the fence nearest the blade.

I have a few 20 Amps outlets that I use for the compressor. The long cord allows me to bring the compressor outside, where ever needed. I didn't want a long compressor hose. It's a 8 gallon compressor. The bigger compressor is stationary.

If I'm close to the 20 Amp outlet then I'll use the 15ft cord if needed.

Observe, if you will, the wild Speckled Woodworker. Driven on by the irresistible and primal need to gather materials from her surroundings and create perfectly manicured reflections of her world view with those few meager offering made to her by Mother Nature. And though her creations may be inexplicably random and almost always flawed, she seems undeterred in her tireless efforts.

Notice the way she lines up the various twigs, rocks and sticks in patterns that, in a human, would appear to indicate a plan beyond, or below, our understanding. Notice how she rearranges her collection into primitive geometric patterns, somehow almost calculating what might be called symmetry, if she could only use correct techniques. She chews one one twig, then the other, trying to make them the same size. But she does not put them beside each other and cut both at the same time, as human craftsman have learned. She instead alternately chews each seeking only to measure the length with her eyes and only the length beyond her mouth. She does not notice that the bite itself is making matters worse, even when both sticks are becoming, as they can only inevitably be, reduced to useless bits.
