So I went to check out the project today. It's about 40 minutes away. They want me to do the wainscoting along the bottom half of their dining room. Doesn't seem too complicated, it's tongue and groove with rails, but I've never done anything like it before. And it will end on an open corner. Not sure what a proper transition looks like for that. :anonymous:

Without knowing the exact situation. I'd just end it flush with that corner (assuming an outside corner) or just short of it. And put a return on the top cap/piece at the corner.

Or if there are rails with the beadboard between, space them such that a rail ends on the corner.

Ok, I'm completely unfamiliar with this, but I'm a quick learner. Can you explain the above with photos? You are correct about the corner. I have both a regular corner and an outside corner.

I got a look at the materials today. It's tongue and groove pvc. It has rails and it said headboard, but I'm not sure what that means.

I was asked about whether it gets glued or nailed to the wall. I would assume just the rails, but they seemed to be asking about the gluing the wall facing surface of the wainscoting. :notsure:

Not knowing what product/system you're using. It would look similar to this.

I've also seen corners look like this. Personal preference.
