Thanks for sharing the RS3200 manual, I'm attaching the PDF to this thread in case the parksoffroad website or link goes down in the future. I did the free alarm mod over the weekend and I also used the manual to program my truck to automatically lock the doors when the truck is turned on, and unlock them when it's turned off, which is a nice security feature to have while driving. Here is the instructions from the manual:

The led is off a washing machine and the mic is from a pc mic that i used way back in the day. Was a whole stand up pencil type chitty mic.. just used the little round electret mic and stuck some sticky back velcro to the front to act as a dampener.. it wont set the alarm off with just taps or anything but if you thump the cab anywhere it goes off.. thinking about mounting one by the catalytic converter just in case bob the crackhead decides to try and take my shit.. since its got a 6” lift on it you can literally do any work under it without a lift or jack.. kinda wondering about car sound systems setting it off though but thatd pretty much be with any alarm.. but the led is bright.. it lights solid for 30 seconds then blinks once every 5 seconds or something when armed..

Looks good! I like the location you put it in, seems like the light is more visible up there as opposed to the stock location by the 12v plugs. My Xtracab has the passenger airbag off switch in that spot, but I want to put my GBS in the spot where the hazard switch is, just need to find a place for it to go though.

I wish i had a pass. Airbag switch but dont.. so it dings if i put shit in the passenger seat.. which i do alot.. so im always buckling up the groceries so i dont go crazy.. the other spots down on the lower thing i have my subwoofer bass control knob, a usb power plug and one still blank.. wonder if i have the plug thats meant for the airbag switch tucked behind somewhere..? Betting i do.. i know of 2 plugs that arent plugged into anything around there i think.. havent looked into it though. Guess i might now.. lol

I read in the Owner's Manual that only the Regular and Xtra-cabs have the airbag switch, but not the Double Cabs. This is so that you can put a kid's car seat in the passenger seat and not have the airbag hit it in the event of an accident. Turning it to the off position doesn't effect the seat belt chime. I did recently find these instructions on TW for how to silence the seat belt chime, but I haven't tried it yet:

    Seatbelt chime turn off

    1) Turn the Car 'ON', but do not start the engine (Leave your foot off the brake). Cycle your trip reset knob until it reads ODO. Turn the ignition back off. Wait a couple of seconds.
    2) Make sure seat belt is not fastened
    3) Turn the ignition back on, do not start the car (Leave you foot off the break) As soon as you see everything light up, press and hold the trip reset knob and do a long 12 second count.
    4) Keep your finger on the trip reset knob. Fasten your seat belt, as soon as you fasten your seat belt, you should see the ODO display go from XXXX miles to "b-on". At that time take your finger off the trip reset knob and press it again. It should cycle to "b-off". You should be all set and turn the ignition off and unfasten your seat belt.

I repeatedly looked for the Tacoma specific Glass Break Sensor 08586-04820 on ebay, Toyota parts websites (discontinued), and junk yards (very rare), but could never find one. They've become somewhat of a Unicorn part. I did get inspired from this thread and the provided RS3200 manual and the TVIP installation instructions (pdf attached below) to get a non-Tacoma specific GBS sensor aka "Status Monitor" and see if it would work instead. I searched on ebay for "toyota security indicator light alarm switch glass" and found several OEM ones from different Toyota models. I ordered one for $15 that had two connectors, instead of the Tacoma's one connector. If you order one make sure it has both ends of the connectors, and enough wire to splice onto like the one I ordered:
    s-l1600.jpg

The manual said the connector could be found under the steering column, but I couldn't find it there, this must be the case only for 2003 models. I did find the empty connector behind the 12v cigarette lighter plugs on top of the metal box with yellow cables coming out of it. I de-pinned the wires from the 4 pin connector and attempted to put them into the GBS switch connectors, but they weren't compatible as the 4 pin was a male, but the 2 -pin connectors were female. So I just cut off the 4 pin connector and used butt splices to splice the wires onto the matching wires sticking out of the 2 pin connectors. Then I put the GBS into the empty switch spot next to the 12v plugs and buttoned everything back up. It looks the same as the Tacoma specific one, except for the lettering is oriented differently, but that doesn't really matter to would-be thiefs. When I locked the doors the red light on the GBS sensor / Status alarm came on and after 30 seconds started flashing. I set the sensitivity on the back of the control module to 10, and the alarm starts going off if I bang on the window, but not if I tap on it with a key, which seems good to me because I don't want it to be overly sensitive.

I also found replica Toyota VIP stickers that are placed on the inside of the window. A small company called A1 stickers sells the set of two for $4.55 including shipping: https://www.a1stickers.com/Pair-of-...side-Glass-Security-Window-STICKERS_p_43.html

I got pretty lucky finding this thread. I had some mismatched interior panels and bought a couple interior pieces from a fellow TW member’s part out thread and it has the GBS attached.

turns out my truck already was wired for it so everything was plug and play!

Last thing is to order those window stickers!
