Just recently picked up an old hardtail and have been riding all over the Boulder/Golden area. Relatively new to Colorado (almost 3 years) so I don't have many biking friends. I have years of dirtbike experience so I'm capable of any blue terrain but once it gets to black diamonds, the lack of a rear shock really sucks lol

Who is down to plan some rides? Where do y'all find people to ride with?

Yup! Love the bike park and it's a quick 20-30 minute ride down LOBO from my office.

    Just a few
    Check out Squirrel Creek.

    https://www.alltrails.com/trail/us/colorado/squirrel-creek

We would take two trucks, park one in Buelah, and the other at Bishops Castle. We would take CO-78 (gravel pass) to get over to Bishops.

The start of the trail from Bishops is quite the climb but totally worth it once at the top. You get around 2 miles of downhill fun and then go into Davenport campground.

    2021-07-08 13_50_45-Window.jpg

After the campground you do a bunch of stream crossings. Early in the season you can be pedaling under water...FYI

Plenty of wildlife. We ran into bears a few times but they left us alone.

Now there is a part of this trail that we would split off on. On the left side of the image you can see a small trail that looks to stop and pick back up ending by squirrel creek road. We would take that and ride all the way into Beulah. Then have some beers, back over 78 to retrieve the other truck.

Check out all the images from the link. Amazing place.

Heck yeah that sounds like a blast. I'm gonna be in California most of the end of this month but I'm game to make plans. Beautiful spot and looks like a good amount of elevation to climb too!

There's a good dirt jump course Golden, and one in south east aurora.

I mostly ride around cherry creek state park. Tons of hidden single track in there

I'm down in the Springs as well but I'm slow so I don't look for group rides so I'm no help there. :D

Been using this alot more lately to find more trails outside of Pueblo, Woodland Park and Canon City areas - https://www.mtbproject.com/directory/8007418/colorado

if your speed is the main thing holding you back, check out the trails end rides on wednesday nights. they normally have 3 groups, a, b, and c. c is a pretty chill ride, entry conversational pace. then everyone gets a beer at trails end after.

admittedly its been awhile since i've joined them, but it was a great time when i would ride with them

I live in the area. I’ve been mounting biking for a long time and have a bike shop set up in my garage. I’d love to ride some trail with ya!

If you're still riding after 5pm on weekdays I'm down to meet up! Weekends are starting to turn into boarding days now but if the weather is better for biking I'm game.

My firm just bought a hanger at the Erie Airport so I rode over there after some meetings one day. Pretty fun and only 2 other people at 4pm on a weekday. There's two sections, one that's a couple two-way single tracks around a little hill, the other is a hill with one path up and a few different difficulties on the way back down.

i went sometime in 2018. it wasnt very big, maybe a little bigger than a football field. there were 3 trails from the top of one end to the bottom of the other, a blue, green, and black. a few jumps on the black but not terribly big. a good place to learn. idk if i would go just for that, but would stop if i was driving by it. i stopped on my way back from horsetooth in foco back down to co springs

With the time change coming up it’ll be pretty hard to do anything but Valmont bike park after work on the weekdays. I definitely ride on the weekends if the weather is holding up.

Y'all don't have lights? I'm going to start up some night rides as winter approaches.
I did a test run on north table mountain Monday night but only got a 15 min ride in as I had to get back down to New Terrain to drink my beer that was waiting for me at closing time (9pm?!?).
