True. I’m thinking inflation versus value plus inflation for the double hit.

This is correct. Securities being priced in USD means the dollars you get at liquidation are inflation adjusted.

This is also why stocks/real estate are the best inflation hedges on a multi-year timeline. They price-correct to offset the devaluation of currency. It's just not immediate.

Side note: I’m a noob here, as I find the discussion interesting and more than a few have perspective I lack.

If you just had TacoBell, I wouldn't trust a fart. European markets seem to be going strong all day so far, most likely our market will remain green, which is unusual for a Friday session this year. I typically stopped trading on Fridays in the past 2 years. And that might just be the handful of stocks that I trade, but the market seems to be more volatile over the wknds.

Until disinflation starts, oil prices drop, or we hit a hardcore recession it's just volatility arguments as far as I'm concerned.

    But Oil Cumneez price gouge.....
Oh you mean the value of their stock will automatically go up as the purchasing power of the dollar decreases?
    :)
Why I bought oil stocks in NOV of 2020...

Technically all stocks will go up as the value of the dollar decreases assuming all other market factors remain fairly stable...
    But we're not stable...
    Sooo....
    Stocks go down too..
