Lasik really isn't that bad at all and it really is painless. They give you some drops beforehand that have a soothing/numbing effect but you really don't notice a numb feeling. I didn't even realize it had a local numbing effect until after the surgery when I asked a few questions about it.

Anyway, a device is used and it presses down on the eye to keep your eye still while the laser does it's magic. This pressing down pressure slightly squishes you eyeball and causes you to loose your vision in that eye. It's really like someone just stuck their hand in front of the video projector and you just can't see anything, just a black screen. Doesn't hurt one bit but if you didn't know it was coming it would freak you out. Then the laser does it's work and you will faintly smell something resembling burnt hair. You won't feel the laser at all. Then the machine releases the pressure on the eye and it's like everything is clear and back to normal. Then they do the other eye. Then you sit up and they ask you if you can see something across the room. Which of coarse you can and then you have someone drive you home and you take a nap. The procedure only took about 1-2 minutes per eye.

The next 3-4 days your eyes will feel dry and at first it might feel like you have a piece of sand in your eye. But it goes away pretty quickly.

at least you look very good in them!:D I first got glasses in 4th grade. Than i got contacts in 5th grade. I need new glasses, they are like 2 or 3 years old, and all bent up. only time i were them is when i’m sick or up really late. I can’t see out of them very well. I’m saving to have laser eye surgery done.

If it helps, you are a beautiful woman who is even hotter cause she drives a yota. I have been wearing glasses for 16 years. Just got contacts and am very fond of them, but can't wear them at work cause they dry out by noon staring at the computer screen. You will adjust!

On a serious note, you're gonna have to get used to them so wear them for short periods at first.
