    Personally, I took a stiff paint brush and went to town getting all the loose stuff off. Then took the time to cover all the electronic stuff like alternator and battery. Took simple green and sprayed it everywhere...then a cheap low power pressure washer ($100 electric one from Home Depot) and rinsed it all off. Not getting too close, but rather letting the mist rinse it all down...let it dry, and took a towel with some WD-40 to get rid of mud stains and water spots. Let it run for a bit to let any residu evaporate, and the WD40 won't collect dirt, but leave the plastic and rubber looking good.

    Did all the wheel wells, undercarriage, and under the bed the same way...

    Just do it while it's cool, and let it air dry...

    God no, that would collect dust and dirt and make it worse in a week...

    WD40 on a towel to wipe and make it look dark. Not so much that it's wet tho...

    In all fairness, I did raise the contrast in the pictures...it's not shiny...just looks flat black and is dry to the touch.
