I sell, specify, and produce doors for a living....and teach AIA accredited classes to architects on how they should use entrances correctly. Pretty sure I know what I'm talking about or I wouldn't be the only guy working on selling every single elevator lobby door for the Freedom Tower and Tower 4.

It's not code for residential construction and last I looked the Freedom Tower doesn't fall under residential code

Canadians.... All of their building codes are garbage. They use fire rated products we deemed unsafe in the 60's and their glass codes are a total joke.

I know of not one Canadian building code that has been adopted internationally where we have hundreds.

I just did a job in Toronto and the sub was a total moron. Was using silicone to set and hold 13' tall glass

 

Single pane windows are still code compliant in the US , no ?

 

I think I worded that wrong. When the bolt sheared it must have got so hot the head of the bolt was just about melted to the blade.
