    how much does your cap weigh? my tent/rack are about 200lbs but only on half the time...plus firewood, water, chairs, table, stove, etc, etc, etc....Toy gets a little saggy with all of my gear. I should take a pic and some measurements once I'm loaded up for this weekend.

    Cap and heavy rubber bed mat together must be 150-200 constant load, 24/7 since I've had it. When camping and towing...dunno, have never scaled it under this load. Tongue weight on the teardrop is only about 100, probably closer to 80.

    It's not specific to wheelers. Every aftermarket leaf I've owned has similar problems.
    Spray paint is cheap insurance. 5 minutes a couple times a year isn't a huge investment.

    do you have an aftermarket leaf pack aal or just the stock pack? granted your truck is considerably older but my truck sags now when I have my kayak in the truck. 45 lbs tire, 40 pound tire carrier, shovel, axe, extinguisher, and 15/20 lbs soft topper. plus my kayak which is advertised at 72 pounds.

    sorry to butt in but I was curious.

    the hard caps are really that heavy on a 6 foot bed? I feel like the cap on my f350 is only 175/200 and its an 8ft bed
