No way in hell it could be considered your fault IMO no matter what advise you gave him. It was likely the drugs that forced him over the edge so unless you slipped him something then don't beat your self up over it.

An old friend I had for 12+ years is in prison for attempted murder after he got strung out on meth, shot his ex girl friend and then himself a few years ago. I knew he was struggling but damn sure didn't see that coming. Luckily they both lived, she recovered 100% and he is left with some permanent damage and 30 years to think about it. I spent some time thinking that I could have gotten him some help before it came to this but the truth is that you cannot be responsible for anyone's action but your own. Now he has nothing but shame for his actions. Told the medics to let him die, refused to even talk to a defense lawyer and took the first deal the prosecutor offered, won't talk to anyone who tries visit him, wont accept commissary. This is a bit of an extreme example for your case Peerunner, hopefully your friend comes to his senses and can move on with his life when this is over.

Trust me on this, don't waste another minute wondering if this could be your fault.

Moral of my friends story and the reason I tell it is:
    Meth - Not Even Once

Thanks man. I have all the details now and they're batshit crazy. Definitely something effecting him mentally, either an antidepressant reaction, a mental disorder of some kind, or a drug like meth.

    Hoping it's not the latter.

haha thought so. Everytime I drive down to SW VA I stop at that exit to get gas and something to eat. It's almost the exact halfway point from my house to my fiance's parents.

    Was there Sunday! :anonymous:
