I am guilty of backlog delivery dates. I try my best.

 

Backlog is okay. But of I call a vendor and they say that it's shipping out the next day, especially when I inform them I need it soon, at least attempt to call when that can't happen. I had to call them a week after not receiving it only to find out it hadn't shipped yet.

 

Yeah, I will definitely be making a call tomorrow. I'm still keeping it, I need it for this weekend. But I can at least express my dissatisfaction to them.

I can't tell much from the pic but hot rolled sheet steel usually doesn't look pretty by the time it gets handled by forks, scraped along a plasma table, thrown in a pile against sharp corners of steel, etc. It tends to scratch easily and when it scratches through the mill scale it makes it look bad.

I use cold rolled steel on my skids, which is a stronger steel and holds up better to abrasion like that. If I do notice any severe scratching I will run a grinder over it, but it is a skid plate after all.

So I guess my judgement is I bet that's normal.

Anyone have a tough startup this morning on the truck due to the cold? Mine reved high for at least 10 min, while my wife's sounded normal.
