Some parts are still really sturdy. Other parts are pretty loose because the staples have come loose.

 

If the lumber is unsealed you could add some wood glue like Titebond 3 and predrill and add some 1 1/4 x #8 screws

 

I had a flat tire strapped down in my bed like that for just a few weeks before some dirt bag salmon fisherman stole it in a fish hatchery parking lot. It was like $100 wheel and $50 for a pressure sensor.

 

Why is a salmon fisherman at a hatchery ?

The hatchery is basically an access point to get to the river and fish some public land. You can't fish in the hatchery, just for parking, steal peoples shit and leaving garbage everywhere.

You mentioned 1x2's , are they lapped across each other or butted and in plane with each other ?

Most all of that wood is getting ripped out and replaced. That was just the best up close pic I had. Other than a couple other spots like that one, most of the wood looks brand new still
