    Need some help!

    Attempting to grease my UCA bushings, so I loosened the bolt and attempted to pump into the zerk...when I started pumping, it just pushed one side of the bushing way out. I tried squeezing out some of the grease with some big channel locks and then when I tried to tighten the UCA bolt back up to see what would happen, the bushing got all squeezed and didn't want to go back in the arm of the UCA...

    What do I do or what am I doing wrong?

    Lol, true story...about 6-7 years ago came home from work middle of winter to find blood all over the snow in the back yard. Looking around saw my dog had blood on her, went to check her over and realized it wasn't her blood just from whatever she caught. Upon further looking found bits and pieces of rabbit here and there. She tore the thing to pieces.
    That was few weeks after we saw her catch a bird right out of the air as it was flying low across the yard. Never seen anything like it before. Between my two dogs they caught about a half dozen animals over the years. Latest was a squirrel in December.

    You loosened the main UCA bolt? Leave everything tightened down when you grease them and only give it 3 or 4 pumps. To get the grease out and bushing back in (hopefully), unscrew the zerk and any excess grease should come back out.

    The long one...I was told to loosen it when greasing?

    I was able to get the bushing back in with very minimal squeezing. Shouldn't I be squeezing until I see some overflow out of the bushing that means all the old grease is out?

    In my experience greasing until the old is out will push the bushing out and you'll have to manually put it back in, if it doesn't get deformed in the process. As far as I can tell the grease is slowly worked out of mine (BuiltRight) over the course of cycling so it's really just filling them again as opposed to pushing out the old like you would do with a u-joint. I've never loosened the bolt either though and I haven't had any issues over the 5 years I'd had them, but I could be doing it wrong too.
