    Took it back to a different shop in the same chain. There's nothing wrong with any of the other stuff, it was 100% put on wrong.

    I understand it happens, but it's the second time (out of two attempts) that same shop has screwed up a repair and I had to go back to get it fixed.

    I did some research and found out I can use either the dual wall switches or wireless remotes to achieve what I'm looking for. Saves me some hassle climbing around in the attic.
