    The sheet rock is in the way. Dumb.

    I was actually trying to save it to sell. It's still in nice shape. I was thinking it was porcelain over steel, but it turns out it's cast iron. That's part of the reason why it's so hard to get out. I'm going to put it back in and buff it with some polishing compound before I tile. Then sell the acrylic tub I bought. Cast iron is better.

    If cast iron leave right where it is. Sheet rock is easier to replace than the tub itself. If you do decide it's gotta go, if crap under the cover then go in guns blazing with a nice big sledgehammer and smash the sucker apart into manageable pieces to carry. Wear goggles and long pants the shards can be sharp and small chips go all over.
