    Note the air bubble void spanning the already meager casting wall. This is the same failure mechanism on 1st gen plastic quarter window latch links.

    I can, but I don't want to. It is lined up perfectly with the bed lines, and when we installed it, it nestled ight in there with a little clunk. So the bedrail seals are right where they want to be.

    Well, no, that would eliminate one of the benefits it provides: a straight tailgate edge to mate with the straight glass edge.

    And, substantially weaken/reduce the rigidity of the RTP.

    I know you guys are trying to be helpful. I can tell that you are really trying. Hard. And I'm afraid you might hurt yourselves.
