Generator in the garage at the other end of that cord.

 

Hey y'all. Today I did my first ever oil change and fluid check. It went well, except one thing. As I was checking fluid levels I started to pour the coolant into the reservoir and realized the reservoir has red in it, and my antifreeze is green.

So of course I stopped pouring right away, a half cup or less of the yellow made it into the reservoir.

The Internet says I should not mix red and green coolant. Should I drain the coolant reservoir since they're mixed now? Or just go get the correct coolant and finish filling it? Or drain it and use what I have?

My OCD would make me drain it but you can probably leave it and be fine.

 

Good point. Does it matter if I use red or green as long as they aren't mixed?

 

I bet the coolant bottle says its compatible with all colors.

 

Wait. You're suggesting I read the bottle?!

 

Some have different additives and might not react very well. I'd just drain and use one type to be safe.
