I don't understand how I would be able to nail any of it. I would be nailing tongue side.

 

Got the wall finished and everything put back together. Gonna move the tv above the fireplace and build a new fire place next

I asked you if you were nailing the groove side , you said yes correct ?

You normally nail the tongue side .

To change direction of nail down t&g flooring , ie change the side that the tongue is on you add a spline to the groove side which is basically just a ripped down piece of wood the same size as the tongue plus the depth of the groove . You glue that into your transition board basically giving you a board with a tongue on both sides .

This is used for areas just like the picture you showed where your boards don't align around that wall .

If I was laying that flooring I would have chalked a line through the hallway and rooms that the flooring was going to go through and screw down a plywood stop on the line . I would then install the flooring from the plywood stop and away in one direction until I was done , then come back , remove the plywood stop , install my spline , nail through the spline and then carry on flooring in the other direction

In both directions I would be nailing through the tongue side of the boards

I thought my passenger tire had detonated but there was no steering pull , I stopped right away but where I was there is basically no shoulder so I had my hazards on and my truck about 2' into the lane .

I could smell burnt rubber when I got out of the truck and went around to the passenger side , looked underneath and found that mess .

I certainly didn't see that on the road and I had just gone to look at a long time client's house where they want a few garden beds built and I parked near their tractor storage / garden maintenance area and I wonder if I parked on top of the wire when I came in and it got hung up on the front of my truck and then came loose a couple miles later after I left

Luckily I had my tool bag in the truck so I had some snips and pliers . Took about 45 minutes to cut off

No clue , seriously if it was on the road I never saw it

Fixed. Even though oz says the floor is shit now.

 

I didn't say it was shit , I was trying to tell you how its supposed to be done , nailing the groove side will leave the boards more prone to the cleats or staples pulling through over time but it also might be fine , you're just doing it backwards
