Nope, just decided we needed something bigger to haul our equipment, and we wanted to step up from the D3 to a D5.

9 speed, I don't know much about it, I researched a little, looked it over before we bought it, but I don't even have my CDL yet, started the process of getting my permit today, passed the general and air brakes test but didn't pass combo, probably gonna take doubles and triples when I go to retest combo.

After I get my license I gotta go get a trailer so I can start hauling our equipment around to pay for the darn thing.

If you are jumping dozer sizes like that , go for a 20 ton.....

If you do a lot of moves think hydraulic ramps or a tilt-deck.....Sev's went to these and production went up.....the old flip ramps can wear on you if it becomes a steady diet....

Hopefully that R has at least a 237 and an engine brake.....if not ...just keep up with the brake adjustments and that thing will pull anything ;) Stopping it will be the "what-if" with the D-5 on back...:p

Definitely going with a 20 ton trailer, we get everything as overkill as we can.

We found a tilt deck 20 ton with airbrakes on eBay that we want to go look at, seems to be a decent trailer but not extrordinarily expensive.

We're hoping in the future to get a 30-35K excavator so we will be using the weight rating.
