    Annoyance.

3:30 this morning, driving to work. Shift starts at 5:00. I'm on a godforsaken road in the middle of nowhere west of Oklahoma City.

Bright lights rush up behind me. LEO. Ok, no worries. My cruise is set dead on the speed limit (my speedometer reads a tiny bit high so I was probably 2-3mph under the speed limit. But I like it, I have all open road in front of me and a nice relaxed drive, I prefer it this way). He got close enough that I couldn't see his headlights over the tailgate (gnashing of teeth. Don't tailgate me! What if a deer ran in front of me? I would hit my brakes and you would hit me). He stayed on me like that for about 5-6 miles. It's a 2-lane but passing is allowed and there was no other traffic, he had plenty of opportunity.

Oklahoma switched to new plates this year, so it's obvious from glancing at my plate that the tags are current since I have the new design. I wasn't speeding. All my lights are working. Why?! In god's name why? Certainly if he'd really wanted to pull me over he would have just done it, I've heard cops say several times most people can't drive more than a block or two without giving them probable cause if they need it.

I came to a stop sign. I'm a pro at roll-throughs on deserted roads but this time I gave it a full three count after the tires stopped moving. After the stop sign he backed off for a few miles, lagged behind maybe 1/4 to 1/2 mile. And then we repeated this process several times for another 20 miles: he rushed up behind me, tailgated/bright lighted me for a few miles, then backed off, then did it again. I finally had enough and turned onto a dirt road, the took the next road parallel to the highway for a couple miles to let him annoy someone else.

I don't understand the point of this behavior. Anyone else bright lighting and tailgating me might have gotten a little brake check, but I'm not doing that with a cop behind me.

    Why drive like that?

    /rant

Too bad you didn't grab his tags and report him. I would still possibly call the county/state PD and report the behavior. Their cars are GPS tagged and they know all about accelerations and positions.

It was state highway patrol. I get it if they need to read the tags they might pull up close to get their info. That's fine. It was just so weird.

I'm really surprised you go there and get a totally normal burger.

Isn't that a double double with everything? So standard.

    Where's the pizza buns?

Where's the 9 patties and 14 slices of cheese?

WHERE IS RYAN, AND WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH HIM? :goingcrazy:

Unprofessional behavior by an officer, if it was in fact one. For all you know, it wasn't and they were trying to kidnap you. Again, calling the state patrol and asking them to look up the officer in that area is probably the best bet. That way they can either be on the look out for an imposter or reprimand the officer.

Weesa made me Almond Banana Bread. Just to be clear she objected to my putting butter on it though.
